The past week or so seems to've been no stop for me, some interesting trips, but a lot of mundane tasks too. I thought I'd better drop in and update my blog before people begin to think I've vanished and what better way than to share some images from my recent trips out and about ...
Last weekend we made a trip to Dawlish Warren and spent a good hour or so beachcombing and looking for creatures in the rock pools ...
I came across a group of 4 starfish, all the same type, but different sizes and with them was a little sea urchin too ...
We collected lots of shells and when we got home we sorted them out and took some photos, these are some of my favourites, so colourful ...
On Monday I went across to Cornwall for the morning, we went across on the Cremyll foot ferry to Mt Edgcumbe Country Park. The main reason for my trip was to see the camellias in the National Camellia Collection which is 'housed' at Mt Edgcumbe. I had a lovely morning, so peaceful and relaxing and was joined on my walk be the little fellow below ...
Here are some of the many camellias I photographed ...
There were also fields of daffodils like this one of pale yellow flowers, so springlike ...
And when I got to the end of my walk I saw these three sleeping peacefully next to the fountain outside the Orangery cafe where I stopped for a coffee before catching the ferry back to Plymouth ...

Oh, I feel homesick for Dawlish now...(I used to go rockpooling in the early morning) The Dawlish beaches are so lovely and interesting, I always compare any beach to them (and they always fail to come up to the standard)
Lovely photos and shells; I want to go to the seaside too...
Thanks for sharing your pictures Gail.
I've only been to dawlish once. I used to watch Alwyn Crawshaw's painting video's featuring the Dawlish beach, the river Exe, etc. So I decided to have a look at his house/gallery there. Didn't get to meet him unfortunately.
I esp loved seeing your seaside pics, thanks.

What fun, traveling, nature adventures. I love tide pools. They feel like other worlds.
